God’s Promise: You Can Know You Are Saved

Feelings come and go, but God’s promises never change. The Bible does not say we hope we have eternal life; it says we can know it, because our salvation is based on what Jesus did for us on the cross, not on our good deeds.

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

— 1 John 5:13
Romans 3:23 • 6:23

We are all sinners in need of grace, but eternal life is God’s free gift through Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:8

God demonstrated His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 10:9-10

Whoever confesses with their mouth the Lord Jesus and believes in their heart is saved!

The 4 Milestones

Four Clear Steps for Every New Believer

You do not have to learn everything at once. Focus on these four foundational steps as you begin your walk with Jesus Christ.

Step One

Talk with God Daily in Prayer

Prayer is simply talking to God from your heart. You don’t need special words. Thank Him for saving you, share your burdens, and ask Him to guide your decisions.

Helpful Tip: Try setting aside 5 minutes each morning to thank God for a new day and ask Him for wisdom.
Step Two

Follow Christ in Believer’s Baptism

Baptism is an outward symbol of your inward faith—picturing Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6:4). It doesn’t save you, but it is the first joyful step of obedience for every believer.

Step Three

Start Reading the Gospel of John

The Bible is spiritual food for your soul. Don’t start at Genesis and get bogged down—start in the New Testament with the Gospel of John to discover who Jesus is and how much He loves you.
